Foreign currency reserves up US$800m

Hong Kong's official foreign currency reserve assets amounted to US$282.5 billion at the end of November, up US$800 million on the end of October, the Monetary Authority announced today.
Including unsettled forward contracts, the foreign currency reserve assets at the end of November stood at US$282.5 billion.
The figure represents about nine times the currency in circulation, or 55% of Hong Kong dollar M3.
