Government expenditure for the six months ending September 30 was $156.3 billion, with revenue of $150.9 billion, resulting in a deficit of $5.4 billion.
The Financial Services & the Treasury Bureau said the deficit was due to salaries and profits taxes being mostly received toward the end of a financial year.
Fiscal reserves stood at $590 billion as at September 30.
