Land for 20K flats to be supplied

Secretary for Development Carrie Lam says the land supply for this financial year will offer more than 20,000 residential units.
 
Speaking on a radio talk show today, Mrs Lam said apart from the West Rail property development at Nam Cheong MTR Station announced earlier, three development projects at Tsuen Wan 5 (Cityside), Tsuen Wan 5 (Bayside) and Long Ping (North) Stations will invite tenders later this year.
 
In addition, a number of lots will also be available in Tseung Kwan O and Sha Tin Kau To.
 
She said the Government will continue to supply land with restrictions on flat sizes to ensure enough supply of smaller flats for potential homeowners.
 
As there are worries the Government’s measures may have an adverse impact on the property market, Mrs Lam said it will be extremely cautious and evaluate the effect of those measures according to market performance.
