Secretary for the Environment KS Wong opened the Youth Internship Programme at Wolong National Nature Reserve in Sichuan today.
Funded by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, the six-week internship programme will enhance the understanding of nature conservation among young people from Hong Kong and Guangdong.
The programme is a major item to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr Wong encouraged young people to apply what they learn from the programme by participating in environmental conservation work.
Mr Wong also visited the Museum of Nature & Earthquake in Wolong and the China Giant Panda Garden in the Wolong National Nature Reserve.
