As plastic shopping bag charging will be fully implemented on April 1, the Environmental Protection Department has been holding community activities to raise awareness and understanding.
Since last November, the department has been holding educational and promotional activities in the community, including carnivals, exhibitions, school dramas, seminars, games stalls and green workshops.
The department will continue to organise large-scale promotional activities in March and April.
All retailers in Hong Kong will have to charge customers not less than 50 cents for each plastic bag from April 1. The shops will retain the charges.
