The Hong Kong-Guangdong joint working group on sustainable development and environmental protection held its 14th meeting in Guangzhou today.
Secretary for the Environment KS Wong and Guangdong Environmental Protection Department Director-General Li Qing co-chaired the meeting.
The two sides agreed to take forward air pollution control measures, study the emission-reduction targets for 2020, and take forward a Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau joint regional study of fine particulate matter.
The two sides plan to enhance collaboration in protecting waters, and managing forestry and marine resources.
The group was set up in 2000 to exchange views on matters relating to environmental quality, natural resources, ecological environment and sustainable development.
