The Environmental Protection Department recorded 31 convictions for pollution offences in December.
Eleven were for air pollution, seven for noise, 11 for unlawful waste disposal, and two for water pollution.
Two construction companies were fined $120,000 each - the highest penalties in the month - for carrying out construction work that contravened the conditions of a construction noise permit.
