Joshua Law meets interns

(August 25, 2017)

Secretary for the Civil Service Joshua Law met university students joining the Administrative Service Internship Programme today.

The Civil Service Bureau conducts the programme to give students wanting to pursue a career as an Administrative Officer the chance to get experience in the Government.

This year 51 students have been posted to 15 government bureaus and departments to take up duties similar in nature to those of AOs.

Mr Law listened to the interns describe their learning journey and encouraged them to join the AO Grade.

He said: "AOs play a key role in the Government. They are regularly rotated to different bureaus and departments, and will be assigned a wide diversity of duties ranging from policy formulation and resource allocation to implementation of major government programmes.

"We hope to recruit 40 AOs in the new round of the recruitment exercise which will commence this September."
