Joshua Law visits IRD

(August 07, 2017)

Secretary for the Civil Service Joshua Law visited the Inland Revenue Department today to better understand its work and services.

Mr Law met with Commissioner of Inland Revenue Richard Wong and directorate staff, and was briefed on the department's efforts in revenue collection and the enforcement and promotion of tax laws.

He toured the Document Processing Centre that handles tax returns, and was briefed on the services provided by the Central Telephone Enquiry centre, which handled 700,000 calls in the last financial year.

Mr Law learned about the assistance the department provides to integrate disabled staff into the workplace.

He then met staff representatives at a tea gathering and encouraged them to continue providing quality services.
