Chief Executive Carrie Lam says negotiations between Hong Kong and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations on a bilateral free-trade agreement are being finalised.
Speaking to the media before departing for Singapore today, Mrs Lam said she expects the deal to be signed by year's-end.
Noting ASEAN is Hong Kong's second-largest trading partner, she said the deal will further strengthen bilateral trade and investment ties.
Reviewing the work of her administration over the past month, Mrs Lam said the Government has implemented a package of measures to support quality education and unveiled the co-location arrangements for the Hong Kong Section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link.
Officials have also conducted more than 10 district visits and 100 media interviews, she added
