Chief Executive CY Leung says the Government attaches much importance to the case in which the oaths taken by some Legislative Council members-elect in last week’s swearing in ceremony were deemed invalid, and will take follow-up action if necessary.
Speaking to reporters ahead of today's Executive Council meeting, Mr Leung said the Government will closely monitor the situation.
He said the Government has been working toward building and maintaining a good relationship with the legislature, saying both sides have the duty to serve Hong Kong according to the Basic Law.
