Inspection of mini-storage centres without sprinkler systems is a top priority after the fire that broke out at an industrial building in Ngau Tau Kok.
Speaking before attending an Executive Council meeting today, Chief Executive CY Leung said the Fire Services, Buildings, Lands and Labour departments will start inspections immediately.
This comes after two firemen died fighting the blaze.
Mr Leung said the Government will consider legislation to step up governing the running of mini-storage centres.
He also called on centre operators and the public to co-operate with the Government's efforts.
