Chief Executive CY Leung has urged the tourism trade to observe the new code of conduct set by the Travel Industry Council.
Speaking before an Executive Council meeting today, Mr Leung said the Government attaches great importance to Hong Kong's tourism development.
He added that it supports the council in implementing rules to maintain Hong Kong's tourism reputation.
Responding to reports that some travel agencies oppose the new regulations, Mr Leung noted that the rules are important for safeguarding the local tourism industry's integrity and called on the agencies to respect them.
