Chief Executive CY Leung welcomed Republic of Croatia President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović to Government House today for talks on greater co-operation.
He said ties between Hong Kong and Croatia had become increasingly close, noting that bilateral merchandise trade increased by about 3% a year between 2010 and 2014.
Mr Leung highlighted that Hong Kong, as an international financial and trade centre, can leverage on its dual advantages of “one country” and “two systems” and act as a super-connector linking the Mainland and the rest of the world, opening up more business opportunities for Croatian enterprises.
He expressed hope that the two places would continue exchanges and strengthen ties on all fronts.
Mrs Grabar-Kitarović said both sides could not only further boost economic co-operation, but also cultural and educational exchanges.
