An exhibition marking the 25th anniversary of the Basic Law’s promulgation opened today and will run at the Museum of History until May 25.
Featuring valuable exhibits and photographs, the expo introduces people to the historical background of the Basic Law and charts the path of its drafting, promulgation and successful implementation.
Highlights include wax figures of Deng Xiaoping and Margaret Thatcher meeting for the negotiation of Hong Kong's future in Beijing’s Great Hall of the People in 1982 and "The Draft Basic Law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China (for Solicitation of Opinions)" issued in 1988.
Visitors can also enjoy interactive games and use the photo-taking area.
