Chief Executive CY Leung has said the Police exercise to help clear the Mong Kok protest site was effective and called on people to obey the law.
Speaking to reporters in Korea today, Mr Leung said roads in Mong Kok have been re-opened and people's lives are returning to normal, but citizens' would need to cooperate and abide by the law to maintain public order.
He urged people not to take part in the occupation of roads anymore, as the courts have clearly stated it is an unlawful act.
Responding to criticism of the Police's handling of the situation, Mr Leung said all versions of events must be heard, adding that there is an established mechanism to handle complaints against the Police.
