The Ceremony to Commemorate Those Who Died in the Defence of Hong Kong, scheduled for tomorrow at 9am, at the City Hall Memorial Garden, will be cancelled.
The decision was made taking into consideration the safety of the mostly elderly attendees, as the Occupy Central protest has affected traffic in the area and it would be difficult for guests to travel to the venue.
A Government spokesman said the people of Hong Kong will mourn for those who died in the defence of Hong Kong between 1941 and 1945, despite the cancellation.
