Differences in critical issues, such as the nomination procedure for the Chief Executive election, will be narrowed in the second round of public consultation on constitutional development.
Secretary for Constitutional & Mainland Affairs Raymond Tam made the statement after appearing on a radio programme today.
He said the Government welcomes all stakeholders to come forward to discuss the political reform package and reach a consensus.
He emphasised it will be an interactive process and the Government will do its best to strike a deal in the coming months.
