(May 03, 2014)
The Government has received more than 10,000 opinions and held more than 220 activities during the first round of constitutional reform consultation, Chief Secretary Carrie Lam announced today, the last day of the first consultation period.Mrs Lam attended a consultation seminar and finale event in Tsuen Wan.
She said the Government will analyse the opinions collected in the next two months.
The community still has diverse views on the reform proposals, she said, adding that most Hong Kong people are expecting to cast their vote in the Chief Executive election in 2017.
She welcomes the fact that many proposals announced recently took into account the Basic Law and the National People's Congress Standing Committee decisions.
