Secretary for Constitutional & Mainland Affairs Raymond Tam says the Government is striving to bridge differences among all parties to reach consensus on constitutional reform.
Speaking to the media today, Mr Tam said lawmakers' recent Shanghai visit was the first step to bridging political differences, and the result was encouraging.
He encouraged more people to air their views in accordance with the Basic Law provisions before the end of the reform consultation.
On the civil recommendation proposal tabled by 18 scholars, Mr Tam said he will meet some of them to discuss the idea.
