Under secretary, political assistants named

Lau Kong-wah will take up the post of Under Secretary for Constitutional & Mainland Affairs, the Chief Executive's Office announced today.Henry Ho will be Political Assistant to the Secretary for Development, and Michelle Au will be Political Assistant to the Secretary for the Environment.
The Secretary for Constitutional & Mainland Affairs recommended Mr Lau, who will assume office tomorrow.
Mr Ho will take up office on December 27, and Ms Au on January 14.
Mr Lau, aged 55, has recently resigned as Deputy Chairman of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment & Progress of Hong Kong, and as District Councillor for Sha Tin.
Mr Lau has served as a Legislative Council member from 1997 to 2012, and as an Executive Council member from 2008 to 2012.
Mr Ho, aged 40, has worked at the Central Policy Unit and Friends of the Earth. He has served as a director of the 30S Group and of the Conservancy Association Centre for Heritage.
He has also served as an Antiquities Advisory Board member, a part-time member of the Central Policy Unit, and a co-opted member of the Strategy Sub-committee of the Council for Sustainable Development.
Ms Au, aged 36, has worked at Asia Television and Friends of the Earth.
