Vice-Premier arrives in HK

 Vice-Premier of the State Council Li Keqiang arrived in Hong Kong today for a three-day official visit.
 
He was accompanied by Chairman of the National Development & Reform Commission Zhang Ping, Minister of Commerce Chen Deming, Governor of the People’s Bank of China Zhou Xiaochuan and the Director of the Hong Kong & Macao Affairs Office of the State Council Wang Guangya.
 
On arrival at Hong Kong International Airport, Mr Li was greeted by Chief Executive Donald Tsang, the Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in Hong Kong Peng Qinghua, Chief Secretary Henry Tang, Financial Secretary John Tsang, Secretary for Justice Wong Yan Lung, Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in Hong Kong Lu Xinhua, Commander of the People’s Liberation Army Hong Kong Garrison, Lieutenant General Zhang Shibo and Political Commissar Lieutenant General Wang Zengbo.
 
Mr Li said the main purpose of his visit is to attend the Forum on the National 12th Five-Year Plan & Economic, Trade & Financial Co-operation & Development Between the Mainland & Hong Kong. He said he has brought new policy measures from the Central Government on supporting Hong Kong’s further development and enhancing cross-boundary trade and financial co-operation.
 
He said he will also attend the University of Hong Kong's centenary celebration, meet and listen to the views of people from various sectors to enhance his understanding of Hong Kong, appreciate the city’s changes and look forward to its future development. He also sent his best wishes to Hong Kong people.
   
Mr Li will hold a meeting with Donald Tsang this afternoon.
