Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council Wang Guangya attended a youth seminar at Youth Square in Chai Wan this afternoon.
 
Mr Wang was greeted on arrival by Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs Raymond Young and Chairman of the Commission on Youth Bunny Chan.
 
At the seminar, Mr Wang shared his personal experience and vision of the Mainland's future development with the young participants, and encouraged them to strive for greater achievement.
 
He said there have been significant changes in the relations between Hong Kong and the Mainland, and many opportunities have arisen on the Mainland.
 
As Hong Kong and the Mainland have developed in different ways, Mr Wang said it is important to promote civic education through which young people can understand the economic development of the nation and gain knowledge on its 5,000-year history and culture. This is definitely an advantage for young people, especially those who want to develop their career on the Mainland.
