Hongkong Post clarifies jab leave
Hongkong Post has deployed resources for necessary arrangements in view of its manpower situation and operational needs to tie in with the Government's vaccination leave measure that gives staff sufficient time for rest after vaccination.
Hongkong Post made the statement today in response to media enquiries on its staff vaccination leave arrangements.
The deployment of resources to dovetail with the leave measure is on the premise of not causing any impact on postal services as far as possible, the statement noted.
In view of the rising number of vaccination appointments in recent days, further efforts have been made to employ extra postal staff who have recently retired to take up short-term duties on a contract basis to boost the supplementary workforce.
To minimise the impact on public services, a daily vaccination leave quota has been put in place for each of its frontline divisions and sections to facilitate manpower planning.
Hongkong Post reiterated that all its staff are entitled to vaccination leave for receiving each dose of a COVID-19 vaccine on or before August 31 according to the Civil Service Bureau's arrangements.
As at yesterday, over 3,800 out of 6,000 Hongkong Post staff had received at least one COVID-19 jab, while around 1,060 staff have booked their first dose for August 16 or before that.
By that day, more than 80% of the staff would have received at least one vaccine dose.
