Estate agents to get subsidy
The Government has earmarked $135 million under the second round of the Anti-epidemic Fund to provide a cash subsidy to individual licensees in the estate agency sector.
A one-off cash subsidy will be provided to each licensee of a salesperson's licence and an estate agent's licence (individual). The subsidy amount is equal to the 24-month licence fee of the respective licences.
The amount for a salesperson's licence is $2,510 and $3,930 for an estate agent's licence (individual). It is estimated that the measure will benefit about 40,000 individual licensees.
There is no need to submit an application for the cash subsidy. The Government will provide the cash subsidy to the eligible licensees in batches through the Estate Agents Authority.
The first batch of subsidies is expected to be disbursed in late May.
