July goods exports dip 6.6%

The volume of Hong Kong’s total goods exports dropped 6.6% year-on-year in July, the Census & Statistics Department announced today.
The volume of goods imports fell 9.7% compared to the same period last year.
Goods exports prices rose 1.1%, while those of goods imports increased 1.2%.
On a seasonally adjusted basis, the volume of goods exports fell 0.6% in the three-month period ending July compared with the preceding three months, while the volume of goods imports dropped 1.4%.
Comparing the first seven months of 2019 with the same period in 2018, the volume of goods exports fell 5.4%, while that of goods imports dropped 6.7%.
Both goods exports and imports prices increased 1.9% during the same period.
