Tech park meeting held
Secretary for Innovation & Technology Nicholas Yang today presided over the fifth meeting of the Joint Task Force on the Development of the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation & Technology Park in the Loop.
He co-chaired the summit at Hong Kong Science Park with Shenzhen Vice Mayor Ai Xuefeng.
Both sides discussed the work progress of the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation & Technology Park Limited (HSITPL), supporting infrastructure in the Lok Ma Chau Loop, and the bioremediation arrangement for Shenzhen River sediment treatment in the first package of the main works.
They also exchanged views on the development of the I&T parks of both sides.
Representatives from the Shenzhen Government then introduced the development concept of the Shenzhen Innovation & Technology Zone. Both parties agreed to keep close contact to achieve co-ordinated development.
The Master Planning Study and Business Model & Business Planning Study commenced by the HSITPL last year are expected to be completed soon.
The company also commenced two new consultancy studies on technical feasibility and economic impact analysis in mid-2019.
It will formulate the I&T Park’s project development and operation plans taking reference to the studies’ findings.
As for supporting infrastructure works, site investigation of the Loop started in June. The target of making the first batch of land parcels available by 2021 or earlier remains unchanged.
