Man arrested for fake credit-card trafficking

*
Hong Kong Police

Hong Kong and Canadian authorities have foiled an attempt to ship counterfeit credit cards to Toronto, resulting in the arrest of a 21-year-old man.

He will appear in court September 11.

On July 21, Hong Kong Police received a report from a delivery company that they had intercepted a suspicious parcel said to contain nine cans of Chinese tea, destined for Toronto from the Mainland via Hong Kong. Police found 132 partially completed counterfeit credit cards concealed in the cans.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police were contacted and a controlled delivery of the cards was mounted. The arrested man accepted the parcel on July 29.
