Pirate radio transmission probed

Office of the Telecommunications Authority

The Office of the Telecommunications Authority is investigating the suspected use of unlicensed radio equipment during a transmission detected at 102.8MHz on May 18.

 

The office is also probing two similar cases on April 20 and May 4. People making unlicensed transmissions face criminal charges.

 

A constitutionality hearing on the issue will be heard in the Court of Appeal September 10 to 12. Pending a higher court's decision, people should exercise restraint, the office said.
