    CDB granted banking licence

The Monetary Authority has granted a banking licence to the China Development Bank Corporation, bringing the total number of licensed banks in Hong Kong to 145. The licence took effect today.

The bank is incorporated on the Mainland and has maintained a local representative office in Hong Kong since 1999. It is the Mainland's fifth largest commercial bank in terms of total assets.
