There were 847 bankruptcy petitions presented in October, down 1.2% from the March figure of 857, and a drop of 18.6% compared with last year's average monthly figure of 1,041.
The Official Receiver's Office said during the month, the court made 625 bankruptcy orders, down 45.7% from the previous month's figure of 1,151, and a drop of 44.8% on the average monthly figure of 1,133 last year.
