*

The Labour & Welfare Bureau has presented awards to outstanding Skills Upgrading Scheme trainees in the building maintenance and decoration industry.

Speaking at the award presentation ceremony today, the scheme's Building Maintenance & Decoration Industry Working Group Convenor Choi Chun-wa said the award aims to give credit and recognition to the outstanding trainees who have demonstrated innovation, perfection and continuous improvement.

A new award was also presented to a trainee with outstanding performance in occupational safety this year.

The Skills Upgrading Scheme launched in 2001 covers 26 industries and provides professional and specific skills training for in-service workers to enhance their employability and competitiveness.
