Police arrested six men, aged 17 to 36 during a protest at a Sha Tin shopping mall this afternoon. Three people including a Police officer were injured during the incident.
They were arrested for offences including assaulting a Police officer, obstructing Police, disorder in a public place and common assault.
Around 200 people took part in the demonstration. Some of them scuffled with officers and charged at shops. After repeated warnings, Police used pepper spray and batons to stop the violent acts.
Police condemned the protesters' unlawful behaviour and will conduct follow-up investigations, adding that there may be more arrests.
