The Monetary Authority has issued an alert on fraudulent emails purporting to be issued by the authority from email accounts beginning with 'remit.' and a series of numbers, followed by '@hkma.gov.hk'.

The authority said it has no connection with the fraudulent emails, and has reported the case to Police.

Anyone who has received such emails should call Police at 2860 5012.
