Transport & Housing
The Transport & Housing Bureau formulates policies on Hong Kong's internal and external transportation, including air services, land transport, maritime transport and logistics; and maintains a fair and stable environment to enable sustained and healthy development of the property market.
Pre-letting applications for the first "My Home Purchase Plan" project at Tsing Luk Street are expected to begin in 2012 and the project will be completed in 2014, says Secretary for Transport & Housing Eva Cheng.
In a written reply today to a question raised by legislator Lee Wing-tat, Ms Cheng said the project will provide about 1,000 small and medium-sized "no-frills" units.
The Government and Hong Kong Housing Society will discuss starting the pre-letting exercise as soon as possible. The society will announce the application period and other details for the Tsing Luk Street project when the preparatory work is finished.
The second "My Home Purchase Plan" project will be located at Sha Tin Area 36C, near Siu Lik Yuen. Depending on the flat sizes, about 700 small and medium-sized flats may be built on the site.
Sites have already been earmarked in Tsing Yi, Sha Tin, Diamond Hill, Tai Po, Tuen Mun and other areas for a total of 5,000 flats to be built under "My Home Purchase Plan".
If the response to the plan is good, the Government will identify more suitable sites, Ms Cheng added.
