Mooncakes pass safety checks

A total of 266 mooncake samples have passed safety tests, the Centre for Food Safety said today.
 
The samples cover more than 20 brands, including traditional, snowy, ice-cream and other types of mooncakes, which had been collected from various retailers and food factories.
 
Despite the satisfactory results, the centre reminded people to avoid excessive eating of mooncakes as they are high in sugar and fat.
