Peanut problem

Peanut problem:  The Centre for Food Safety has urged the public not to consume this Korean soybean paste.

Alert issued on food products

March 26, 2013
The Centre for Food Safety has urged the public not to consume a Korean soybean paste and Nestle Kit Kat Chunky Collection Giant Egg due to health concerns.

The centre advised consumers allergic to peanuts not to eat the Korean product, which does not carry a food label explicitly declaring the presence of peanuts.

The importer is recalling the product and has set up a hotline, 2307 6152, for enquiries.

The Kit Kat Chunky Collection Giant Egg has a waffle inside that may contain small plastic pieces.

The producer is recalling the four flavours of Kit Kat chocolate waffles and the Giant Egg which contains the waffles.

The local agent can be called on 2179 8888 for enquiries.
