Korean noodles pass food safety tests
October 30, 2012
Korean instant noodles samples contained no carcinogens, according to a Centre for Food Safety test result.
In response to media reports last Thursday that six Korean brand "Nong Shim" instant noodle products were suspected of containing the carcinogen benzopyrene, the centre contacted Korean authorities and the local agent.
The centre collected samples of the five products and three other products from the manufacturer for testing. They did not contain benzopyrene.
The agent will remove all imported batches of the five products.
