Critical girl tested for scarlet fever

The Centre for Health Protection is investigating a possible scarlet fever infection, complicated with septic shock, involving a five-year-old girl.
The girl fell ill on May 27 and developed a rash today. She has been admitted to United Christian Hospital paediatric intensive care unit. Her condition is critical.
Test results are pending.
Her siblings have had flu-like symptoms in recent weeks.
