The Sir Robert Ho Tung Charitable Fund has allocated $14.7 million to 229 charitable projects in the areas of medicine and health, rehabilitation, social welfare, education, community service and anti-drug abuse this year.
The fund's allocation committee said today the donation enables 147 organisations to enhance their services to benefit a large number of people.
Major grants include $1.62 million for the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals to purchase equipment for the elderly and chronically ill patients; $736,000 for the Hong Kong Tuberculosis, Chest & Heart Diseases Association to acquire monitoring systems for Ruttonjee and Tang Shiu Kin Hospitals and other projects.
