Chief Executive CY Leung today congratulated the Hong Kong Paralympic Games squad for winning its first medals in Rio.

 

Tang Wai-lok won the men's S14 200m freestyle final, scoring Hong Kong's first ever gold medal in a Paralympic swimming event.

 

Ng Mui-wui won bronze in the women's singles TT11 table-tennis event to secure Hong Kong's first medal for this year's Paralympics.

 

Mr Leung said: "The exceptional performances by the athletes fully demonstrated their perseverance and determination to strive for the best. We are all very proud of their achievements."

 

Acting Secretary for Home Affairs Florence Hui praised the athletes and encouraged the Hong Kong team to continue to pursue excellence and strive for more good results.
